A renowned innovation scholar, Professor Dr. Serdar S. Durmusoglu earned his Ph.D. in marketing from Michigan State University. He also holds an MBA from Purdue University (finance and marketing concentrations) and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Bogazici University. After getting his Ph.D., Prof. Durmusoglu earned his tenure and spent around 15 years in academia in the United States. Several years ago, he moved to East Asia, and since then, he has been working in various positions at universities in Thailand and China. Until recently, he was both a Full Professor and the Academic Director of Modul University Vienna’s Dual-Degree Program at Nanjing Tech University Pujiang Institute in Nanjing, China. Dr. Durmu̧soglu’s work has been published in the top journals of his field, such as The Journal of Product and Innovation Management, Industrial Marketing Management, and R&D Management, among others. He is also a co-editor of the Product Development Management Association’s (PDMA) book, New Product Development Essentials: Tools for Open Innovation. His most recent book is Chinese Innovation and Branding Leaps, which came out in April 2022. Further, Dr. Durmusoglu is on the editorial board of Industrial Marketing Management and a member of PDMA’s Outstanding Corporate Innovator Award Committee, an award given to leading firms for over three and a half decades.
