KHAS Academics among the World’s Most Influential Scientists

A database study conducted by a group of researchers from Stanford University in line with the data found in the SCOPUS index database, have been announced the list of the Most Influential Scientists in the World. The list, published by Elsevier, a Netherlands-based publishing company specializing in scientific, technical, and medical content, was listed in two categories: “Career-Long Impact” until the end of 2021 and “Annual Impact” for 2021. In creating the list, international criteria such as total number of citations, number of patents, h-index, hm-index, number of articles, and number of qualified publications were used.

The list includes more than 200 thousand scientists worldwide, working in 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. Prof. Dr. Nihat Berker, the Dean of KHAS Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences; Prof. Dr. Metin Kozak, the Dean of KHAS Faculty of Communication; Emeritus Prof. Dr. M. Önder Pekcan of KHAS Molecular Biology and Genetics Department; Prof. Dr. Volkan Ediger of KHAS Energy Systems Engineering Department, and Prof. Dr. Bülent Diken of KHAS Radio, Television and Cinema Department took place in the “Career-Long Impact” list.

The “Annual Impact” list also consists of several names from Kadir Has University. Prof. Dr. Metin Kozak, Prof. Dr. Volkan Ediger, Prof. Dr. Bülent Diken, and Prof. Dr. Funda Samanlıoğlu of KHAS Industrial Engineering Department were among the most influential scientists worldwide in 2021.
